• When the position of an object changes continuously then the object is in motion.
• When the position of an object remains constant then the object is in rest.
• We can experiment rest and motion by throwing a ball on the wall and roll a dice.

Motion with real life example:

• Moving car or bus.
• Running child.
• Rotation of earth around sun.
• Rolling a stone from top of a slope.

Rest with real life example:

• Standing person.
• Sleeping person.
• Tree.
• Building.

Motion and rest at the same time with real life example:

• When a person is sitting in a moving bus, then the person sitting is at rest and the bus is in motion. Thus, the rest and motion are taking place at the same time.

The best example of rest and motion is the trains.

• When we travel through train or bus, we always see that or assume that things outside the window is also moving with us .
• But in reality, they are in the rest form. But we are sitting we are rest, but in reality the bus is moving so we are also in motion.
• So, we are the same time in motion as well as rest.
• The another example we can take of earth revolving around the sun.
• We do not feel the motion of earth if we are rest we are same state, but the earth is moving and we are rest at the same time.
• This shows if somebody is in motion, but someone else it can be at rest.
• So, in this way the rest and motion related to each other.
