when the solar radiation falls on the earth surface the surface of the earth gets heated this is known as terrestrial radiation and when the earth surface gets heated the air near it also gets heated and it rises up in the atmosphere and as carbon dioxide is present in the atmosphere it doesn't allow heat to escape in this way the hot air stays inside the. eart and in this way. the earth keep itself warm and if carbon dioxide increases in our atmosphere the heat would not escape and this could lead to Global warming.

The chlorophyll present inside the plants help them to catch solar radiation and convert solar energy into chemical energy for the process of photosynthesis.
