Clause - Such a group of words that forms part of a sentence, and has a subject and a predicate of its own, is called a clause.

Example : You may sit where ever you like.

There are three types of clause-

1)Adverb clause
2)Adjective clause
3)Noun clause

Adverb clause - An adverb clause is a group of words which contains a subject and a predicate of its own, and does the work of an adverb.

Example : The stolen poverty was found in the dacoit's hiding place.

Adjective clause - An adjective clause is a group of words which contains a subject and a predicate of its own, and does the work of an adjective.

Example : They never fail who die in a great clause.

Noun clause - A noun clause is a group of words which contain a subject and a predicate of its own, and does the work of a noun.

Example : I fear that I shall fail.
