Explanation and steps for expressing :

Formula Pythagoras Theorem will be used i. e.

H² = B² + P. ²

H² = √5

H = (√5)² = 5

√5 = 4 + 1

√5 = (2)² + (1)²

1) Take unit one and and draw on no. 2 of the number line.

2) Join that line ( of integer two) to zero using a slantic line.

3) Take a compass , keep it's needle on 0 and finally draw an arc from the unit you have taken on number 2 . Name the arc as A.

This will be your √5 on the number line.
