Answer:

Dismayed : I was dismayed to hear that my friend's

dog died .

Thundered : The rain started and clouds thundered .

Both in one sentence : I was dismayed to hear that many people were tensed when it started thundering.

i.) Thundered: to make a loud noise in the sky during a storm

Eg. The rain poured down and it started to thunder.

ii.) Dismayed: to break down the courage of completely, as by sudden danger or trouble; dishearten thoroughly; daunt.

Eg.

I was dismayed to hear that my old school had been knocked down.
