Anne started to write in her diary because she was depressed & felt lonely. She lacked one true friend in her life despite of having many friends and a family beside her all the time so she started writing in her diary and adressed it to her imaginary best friend kitty she also believed that paper had more patience that ppl which means we can always write things in a paper rather than sharing it with an actual person because that always ends up in us being judged by that person so she started writing her happiness and grievances in a diary bc she didn't want to get judged by others.
