The question tags for the statements are:

(a) You, he, and I did the work, didn't we?

(b) Rahim, as well as Karim, will do the work, won't they?

(c) None is none on the world, are they?

(d) When he came I left the class, didn't I?

(e) Happy Birthday to you, isn't it?

Question Tags:

  • A question tag is a rhetorical form of question where answers are not expected. They are usually used and asked for confirmation.
  • The main and foremost thing is to find the auxiliary verb and use it to form the question tag.
  • If the sentence is positive in nature, the question tag will be negative and vice versa so.
  • The subject will become the third person, in the question tag. As in the first 2 examples (a) & (b) the auxiliary verbs 'did' & 'will' are changed to negative and the pronouns in the third person are used.
  • Whereas for (c) & (d) the auxiliary verb is introduced as there is no verb in the statements. Later the pronouns are added.
  • Lastly, statement (e) is an exception and hence the question tag "isn't it" is used addressing the birthday as 'it'.
