This was a simple science trick played in the olden days we'd make holes halfway from the bottom in the bottle, fill it to the neck with water and hand it out to someone, saying we couldn't open it, the person would open it successfully but to his/her surprise would wet themselves too!
This can be explained in terms of a air pressure, when the filled bottle has its lid on, the tiny amount or air confined does apply the typical 1 ATM pressure but since the air is confined, as soon as the pressure pushes the water out through the holes the gap is increased and the air volume has to expand to fill the increased gap, reducing it's pressure, this means that the the trapped air cannot push the liquid through the bottom holes, however, when the cap is twisted open the air is no longer confined and the 1 ATM pressure acts on the water surface and pushes it causing liquid to leak through the holes.
