w = x^2 - 2yz

We have to find, the value of y the subject of the formula.

Solution:

w = x^2 - 2yz

⇒ 2yz = x^2  - w

Dividing both sides by 2z, we get

\dfrac{2yz}{2z} = \dfrac{x^2-w}{2z}

⇒ y = \dfrac{x^2-w}{2z}

∴ The subject of the formula , y = \dfrac{x^2-w}{2z}

Thus, the subject of the formula , y = \dfrac{x^2-w}{2z}.
