Where did Bismillah Khan play the Shehnai on 15th August 1947? Why was the event historic?


Why did Bismillah Khan refused to start a Shehnai School in the USA?


Find at least two instances in the text which tell you that Bismillah Khan loves India and Banaras.

1.WHEN INDIA GAIN INDIPENDENCE ON 15th AUGUST 1947. BISMILLAH KHAN WAS THE FIRST INDIAN TO GREET THE NATION WITH HIS BEUTIFUL SHEHANAI. WHEN HE WAS PLAYING SHEHANAI HIS HEART WAS NOT IN HIS BODY BUT IN THE RAAG KAFI WHICH WAS FLOWING FROM THE RED FORT TO THE AUDIENCE . PANDIT JAWAHALAL NEHRU WAS ALSO THERE WHO LATER GAVE HIS FAMOUS SPEECH 'TRYST WITH DESTINY ' AND THIS IS WHY THIS WAS A HISTIRIC PERFOMANCE......

2.BISMILLAH KHAN REFUSED TO START A SHEHANAI BECAUSE HE NEVER WANTS TO LEAVE HIS COUNTRY AND BANARAS AND THE HOLY GANGA......

3. TWO SENTENCES WHICH DESCRIBES THAT BISMILLAH KHAN LOVES INDIA AND BANARAS ARE :

a. ' THIS IS WHY WHENEVER I AM IN A FORIEGN COUNTRY ,I KEEP YEARNING TO SEE HINDUSTAN . WHILE IN MUMBAI, I THINK OF ONLY BANARAS AND THE HOLY GANGA , AND WHILE IN BANARAS I MISS THE UNIQUE MATTHA OF DUMRAO.......

b. GOD FORBID! ME TO LEAVE BANARAS? NEVER! I WENT TOVPAKISTAN ONCE - I CROSSED THE BORDER JUST TO SAY I HAVE BEEN TO PAKISTAN . I WAS THERE FOR ABOUT A HOUR . I SAID NAMASKAR TO THE PAKISTANIS AND SALAAM ALAIKUM TO THE INDIANS! I HAD A GOOD LAUGH..
