reason being viruses have different mechanisms of action as they are just a crystal on a non living surface but when they enter living body they will use the host's machinery to replicate..NOW you must know that viruses actually replicate in uneven time as they have RNA (ribose nucleic acid) as their genetic material which is very UNSTABLE .SO..it is difficult to make anti viral drugs..
