Hey user....

Making of antiviral medicines is difficult than making anti bacterial drugs because viruses are non living entity that have few biochemical mechanisms of their own and they enter our cells to use our cellular machinery for their life processes which can harm us...

This is because anti bacterial medicines block the formation of cell wall of the bacteria. When, bacterias don't have cell wall, they don't divide and hence they die. While, viruses don't have any machinery of their own. When they enter our body, they use our cells as their machinery and to kill viruses, we have to kill some of our cells as well. As viruses doesn't use biochemical pathways i.e. nobody can predict where they will go in our body, no one can prescribe any antibiotic for that.
