Constitution of India was prepared under the chairmanship of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who is known as the father of the Indian Constitution. It took almost three years to draft the constitution. While drafting the constitution, various socio-political and economic aspects of society were taken into consideration. The drafting committee also referred to the constitutions of several other counties, including Britain, France and Japan, to search for valuable inputs.

The Constitution of India contains fundamental rights and duties of citizens, Directive Principles of State Policy and the federal structure of the Government of India. Every policy, authority and duty is explained in the Indian Constitution, making it the longest written constitution in the world.

The Constitution of India is known as the supreme document which gives detailed information about the duties and rights of the citizens of India. It has set a standard which needs to be followed to ensure law and order in the society and also needs to be helped to develop and prosper.

The fundamental rights and duties of Indian citizens are clearly defined in the constitution of the country. Fundamental rights of Indian citizens include the right to equality, right to freedom, right to freedom of religion, cultural and educational right, right against exploitation, right to constitutional remedies.
