Switches should be made of Bakelite as it is a thermosetting plastic ,which wont melt at critical temperatures. Iron being a metal ,is a good conductor of Electricity. Hence ,It may lead to serious shocks and troubles when used as switches. Hence ,Switches are made of bakelite .
