Male has 23 pairs of chromosomes and female has 23 pairs of chromosomes.

        Then why don�t an offspring have 46 pairs of chromosomes which is obtained by the fusion of these two eggs

Answer:

Yes of course the zygote is the fusion of the male and female gamete who have 23 pairs of chromosomes  individually.

But while sexual reproduction only half of the chromosomes of male and female gamete is passed to the offspring.  

Thus the male and female gametes are haploid. and the offspring is diploid consisting of 23 chromosomes from mother and 23 chromosomes from father.

Mind it that it consists of 23 chromosomes from each parent and NOT 23 PAIRS of chromosomes.

because there are proteins made up of dominant gene by both mother and father as a dominant one acquires a characteristic so there cant be a 46 chromosomes i happened means there are only chromosomes are on earth
