Male has 23 pairs of chromosomes and female has 23 pairs of chromosomes. Then why donot an offspring have 46 pairs of chromosomes which is obtained by the fusion of these two eggs.

If born baby also have 46 chromosomes then when they reproduce their generation may contains 92 chromosomes as per u.......
Likewise by generations chromosomes number increases which disturbs metabolic activities and sexual characters..
