1)a) Enzyme- Salivary amylase

function- it helps in digestion of carbohydrates in the buccal cavity. 30% of the carbohydrates are digested in mouth.it helps in the hydrolytic reduction of polysaccharides (starch) into disaccharides (maltose)

• peptic gland- secretes pepsinogen which is converted into pepsin by hydrochloric acid. Pepsin helps in the digestion of proteins in the stomach. it helps in the reduction of polypeptides into dipeptides.
• Liver- it secrets Billie juice which helps in the emulsification of fats for their easy digestion and absorption
