Alcohol abuse can produce a spectrum of liver diseases that include fatty changes in the liver, alcoholic hepatitis, and eventually cirrhosis of the liver. Fatty change is reversible. Inalcoholic hepatitis, hepatocellular necrosis takes place. Cytoplasmic inclusions called Mallory bodies may be seen.
