The Mammary glands are modified sweat glands which get enlarged at the time of the pregnancy.

These glands are built with hollow cavities, which are a few millimetres in size and these cavities are called alveoli.  

Each Alveoli is found surrounded with milk-secreting cuboidal cells and myoepithelial cells.

In mammal females, the gland stands responsible for producing breast milk for infants.
