Answer:

Early man believed in life after death.

Explanation:

Across the world, whenever archaeologists find traces of ancient civilizations, they excavate the area to understand the manner in which the humans and their cultures evolved. One of the things that remain consistent across most civilizations is the findings of a lot of belongings and other miscellaneous items in the burials. be it the burial mounds found in the Indus Valley Civilization or in the pyramids of Egypt, many things have been found where a person's final remains were placed.

Since scientific thought was not something that people had back then, it would have been common for them to be unsure of many natural phenomena, including death. Thus it is understood that since they believed in life after death, they buried some essentials along with the mortal remains of a person which would supposedly help them in their afterlife.
