Bill Gates once said that "If you are born poor then it's not your fault but if you die poor then it's definitely your fault." Keeping this in mind we can explain that destiny is simply what we tend to make it.
A poor can become a billionaire by doing hardwork. It's often heard that hardwork leads to success and this success makes your destiny. A man in itself is the real maker of his destiny. Destiny is an event that will certainly happen in future and will completely change it. Let's take few examples of certain famous personalities who completely changed their destiny by hardwork. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam the people's president was the son of a boat owner in a village near Rameswaram, who thought that one day he will rule each and every person's heart and become such a loved person. How did this happen certainly because of the reversal of his destiny that happened due to his hard work, courage and positive thinking. He never gave up and always took all the challenges of his life in a positive way and learnt from his failures. Not only respected Dr.Kalam but many others like Lal Bahadur Shastri, Dhirubhai Ambani , Ratan Tata, Narendra Modi and many more . They reached at the peak of success due to hardwork.
So it's absolutely true that man is the maker of his destiny. Either he can light a lamp or he may die in darkness.
Hope this is fine and also helps you!

there is and always have been a widespread belief in fate and Destiny - an eternal power which apportion definite ends of both individuals and the society. this belief has risen from a long observation of the fact of life.

according to Roman mythology fates and Destiny is controlled by the three sisters but according to modern man Destiny is controlled by ones own potentiality, willpower and perseverance.

great lives have left there footprints on the sands of time. they have made their Destiny by their hard work and intelligency . ganghi ji , swami vivekananda, rabindranath tagore, APJ Abdul kalam , Albert Einstein, acharya jagadish chandra Bose have done great works . they have moulded our society and has given a new shape. like them every one of us are striving hard to create our Destiny and our lives. we are responsible for our future. What we do today will have a consequence tomorrow wherther good or bad.

however men are also aware of the fact that there are some occurrences in life which cannot be avert. life and death for instance is inevitable. however they strive hard for the attainment of their goals with perfection thus becoming the makers of there Destiny.
