(i) Man modifies his environment because of his growing needs. He is capable of modifying it according to his need to live a comfortable life. Humans learn new ways to use and change the environment and as a result, invented many things. Industrial revolution enabled large scale production of goods. Transportation became faster and more comfortable. Information revolution made communication easier and faster across the world.

(ii) Plants and animals depend on each other for their sustainability. Animals consume plants for their living and also takes oxygen from them. Few carnivorous animals, in turn, eat other animals. Plants are dependent on animals as they give out carbon dioxide which is important for photosynthesis.
