man walks a distance of 5 km in 2 hours then he goes in to a nearby town which is 40 kilometre in the two hours . from there he go to his office in an auto rickshaw , a distance of 5 kilometre in in one by two 2 hours. what is is his average speed during the whole journey.​

Total distance covered = 5+40+5 = 50 km

Time taken =

2 + 2 +  \frac{1}{2 \: }  = 4 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{9}{2} \:  hours

Average speed =

 \frac{distnce}{time }

 =  \:  \frac{50}{ \frac{9}{2} }

 =  \:  \frac{100}{9}

 \:  = 11  \frac{1}{9}  \: kmph
