Given.

  • Selling price = Rs. 1628
  • Loss = 20%

Solution.

By selling the mobile phone costing Rs. 100 for Rs. 80, it was a Rs. 20 loss

Then the cost price of the mobile phone is

= Rs. 1628 * 100 / 80

= Rs. 2035

If the mobile phone is sold for Rs. 2000, it is a loss since CP > SP.

Loss = Rs. (2035 - 2000) = Rs. 35

Hence percentage of loss is

= 35/2035 * 100 %

= 1.72 %

Answer. Required percentage = 1.72%.

Loss % = 1.72 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Manav lost 20%.
  • Selling Price of mobile phone is Rs 1628.

To Find:

  • What percent would he gain or loss by selling mobile at Rs 2000 ?

Solution: Here,

  • Loss percent = 20%
  • Selling Price = Rs 1628.

As we know that to find C.P when loss % and S.P are given the formula is

C.P = [ 100/ (100 Loss% ) x S.P ]

\implies{\rm } C.P = Rs [100/ ( 100 20 ) x 1628]

\implies{\rm } Rs [ 100/80 x 1628 ]

\implies{\rm } Rs 162800/80

\implies{\rm } Rs 2035

So, Cost Price of mobile phone is Rs 2035.

Now, given that S.P = Rs 2000

Since, S.P < C.P . Hence, there is a loss

Loss = C.P S.P

\implies{\rm } Loss = ( 2035 2000 )

\implies{\rm } Loss = Rs 35

Loss % = ( Loss/C.P x 100 )

\implies{\rm } Loss % = ( 35/2035 x 100 )

\implies{\rm } Loss % = 3500/2035

\implies{\rm } Loss % = 1.719 or 1.72

Hence, he lost 1.72% on seeling mobile phone at Rs 2000.
