Mendeleev name unnamed elements as EKA- Boron EKA- Aluminium and EKA Silicon which were later replaced as Scandium, Gallium, and germanium respectively.

Eka boron – It is The element Scandium.

Eka aluminum is the element Gallium.

Eka silicon – It is the element Germanium.

eka meaning “beyond” .

When Mendeleev proposed his table , he noted gaps within the table and predicted that unknown elements existed with properties appropriate to fill those gaps.
