The price of the third variety of mango is Rs. 195 per kg.

Given : Mango A worth Rs 130/kg and mango B worth Rs 120/kg is mixed with the third variety C in the ratio 1:1:2 . The mixture is worth Rs 160.

To find : The price of the third variety of mango.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the price of third variety of mango)

Let, the amounts of three mangoes in the mixture = x kg , x kg and 2x kg

(obtained from the ratio 1:1:2)

Total price of Mango A = 130 × x = Rs. 130x

Total price of Mango B = 120 × x = Rs. 120x

Let, the price rate of Mango C = Rs. y per kg

Total price of Mango C = y × 2x = Rs. 2xy

Total price = Rs. (130x + 120x + 2xy) (i)

Now, total amount of mixture = x + x + 2x = 4x kg

Total price of the mixture = 160 × 4x = Rs.640x (ii)

Comparing (i) and (ii), we get :

(130x + 120x + 2xy) = 640x

2x (65 + 60 + y) = 2x (320)

125 + y = 320

y = 320 - 125

y = 195

So, the price of third variety of mango = Rs. 195 per kg

Hence, the price the third variety of mango is Rs. 195 per kg. (non of these)
