Option (b) is the right answer
Mango dipped in concentrated NaCl solution will contract.
- So basically due to the presence of the osmotic pressure the mango will shrink because the salt concentration which is present inside the mango is very low in quantity.
- That's the reason why the solvent present inside the mango will gradually start to flow towards the salt solution which is placed outside and will further equate the both the concentrations.
- Now this is the reason why water inside the mango decreases and then the mango shrinks.
- So here the alternative option for shrink is contract and thus we can say that that it also contracts.
