Mangoes are to be transferred from larger boxes into smaller boxes. When a large box is emptied, the mangoes from it fills two smaller boxes and still 12 mangoes remain outside. If the number of mangoes in a small box is taken to be n, then : a) write an algebraic expression for mangoes in larger box. b) evaluate the expression for n = 3

So, no go mangoes in one large box be m

From the given information,

No. of mangoes in one large box=2(No. of mangoes in one small box)

m=2n. (1)

Putting the given value of n=3 in equation (1) ,

We get,

m=2(3)

m=6
