Manhar has some 10 rupee notes and some 20 rupee notes. The number of 20 rupee notes are half of 10 rupee notes. If the total value of the notes is rs 160. Find the number of notes of each denomination.

let the no. of 10 rupee notes = x

then the no. of 20 rupee notes = x/2

Now, total amount Manhar possesses is 160 rupees.

Then,

[10×x] + [20×x/2] = total money he has

=> 10x + 10x = 160

=> 20x=160

=> x= 8

Therefore he has 8 10 rupee notes

and, 4 20 rupee notes .
