Answer:

For Statement-I= 16 days

For Statement-II=14 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Manish can complete a work in 20 days

Manish can do work in 1 day= 1/20

work done in 8 days= 8/20= 2/5

Considering Statement I: Sriram takes twice the time than manish to complete the work.

That means, Sriram can do the work in 40 days

Sriram can do the work in 1 day= 1/40

Time taken by to complete jointly by Manish and Sriram as x

Then 1/x = 1/20+1/40

1/x=3/40

X=40/3

Total time taken to complete the balance work= 40/3 of 3/5=(40/3)x(3/5)= 8

Total time taken to complete the work= 8+8 = 16 days

Considering Statement-II: Sriram complete half the work in 15 days

Then, He can do the work in 30 days

Work done in 1 day= 1/30

Let y  be the time taken by them working jointly,

Then,

1/y= 1/20+1/30

1/y= (3+2)/60

Y=60/6=10

Time taken by them to complete the balance work= 10 of 3/5 =10x3/5=6 days

Total time taken to complete  the work= 8 days +6 days= 14 days
