Step-by-step explanation:

sp of 10 toffees = 1

g% = 20%

sp = cp(1+g%)

1 = cp(1+20%) = 1.2cp

cp = 1/1.2 = 0.83

cp of 10 toffees = 0.83 rupees

cp of x toffees = 1 rupee

x=1/.83 ×10 = 12.05 toffees

for 1 rupee we can buy approximately 12 toffees

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Manish gains 20% by selling 10 toffees for a rupee.

To find:-

How many did he buy for a rupee ?

Solution:-

Selling price of 10 toffees =1 rupee

Gain on it =20%

Let the cost price be X

We know that

Cost price =(100× Selling Price)/(100+gain%)

=>X=(100×1)/(100+20)

=>X=100/120

=>X=10/12

=>X=5/6

=>X=0.83(approximately)

=>X=83 paise

Cost price =83 paise

Answer:-

The cost price of 10 toffees is 83 paise

He bought 10 toffees for 83 paise
