Manish left a wooden plank on the grass in the garden by mistake. What will happen to the grassbeneath the wooden plank ?

A understandable answer to that would be that the grass dies beneath the plank for it can not get the light of the sun, like all plants grass creates its own food though photosynthesis which requires sunlight. I hope this will help you
