Let Ramesh’s present age be x.

After 10 years his age will be (10+x) yrs.

4 years ago Ramesh’s age was (x-4) yrs.

As per the problem; Ramesh’s age after 10 yrs will be 4 times his age 4 yrs ago.

So :

(10+x) = 4(x-4)

10+x = 4x - 16

26 = 3x

x = 26/3 = 8.67 yrs = Ramesh’s present age

Cheers!!

Answer:

The present age of Ramesh is 15 years

The present age of Manish is 30 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

The present age of Ramesh = x

Manish’s present age is twice of Ramesh’s present age

So,

The present age of Manish = 2x

10 years ago,

The age of Ramesh = x - 10

The age of Manish = 2x - 10

Also,

Manish was four times as old as Ramesh

So,

⇒ 4 (x - 10) = 2x - 10

⇒ 4x - 40 = 2x - 10

⇒ 4x - 2x = - 10 + 40

⇒ 2x = 30

⇒ x = 30 / 2

x = 15

____________________________

Value of 2x :

⇒ 2 (15)

⇒ 2 × 15

30

Therefore,

The present age of Ramesh is 15 years

The present age of Manish is 30 years
