Manish started cycling along the boundaries of a square field from corner point M .After 20 minutes he reached the corner point O, diagonally opposite to M. If he is cycling at a speed of 11 km/h. What is the area of the field in sq. km


Ans is 3.36 sq.km

According to the question,

Distance covered by him in 1 hour(60 mins.) = 11 km

Distance covered by him in 1 min. = \frac{11}{60}

Distance covered by him in 20 mins. = \frac{11}{60} x 20 = 3.66 km

Total perimeter of the field = 2 x 3.6 = 7.32 km

Perimeter = 4 x side

Side = 7.32/4 = 1.83 km

Area of the field = 1.83 x 1.83 = 3.348 sq. km. = 3.35 sq. km.
