x = present age of Manisha's mother
y = Manisha
Then, x = 3y. --------(i)
and, x + 4 = (5/2) × (y+4)
=> 3y + 4 = (5y + 20)/2
=> 6y + 8 = 5y + 20
=> 6y - 5y = 20 -8
=> y = 12 ------(ii)
Using (ii) in (i)
x = 3× 12
= 36
Hence, Manisha's mother = 36 years
Manisha = 12 years
