Manisha told half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field and
three fourth of the remaining are playing nearby.
The rest 9 are drinking water from the pond.
i)Find the number of deer in the field.
ii) Explain the procedure you followed to find the total number of deer.
iii) What will be one fourth of the number of deer , if total number of deer is ‘x’’?

Number of deer grazing in field = 1x/2. Number of deer playing nearby = 3/4 of 1x/2 = 3x/8. Hence, the total number right deer in the herd is 72.
