When yeast is added in the flour dough ,the dough rises because -

• The flour dough is full of starch content.

• When yeast is added in the dough,the yeast decomposes the starch into sugar molecules.

• During this transformation process of starch to sugar, ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide are also generated.

• This generated carbon dioxide creates air bubbles in the flour dough and for this reason the flour dough rises from it's initial stage.
