Of course. Saying please and thank you is the most basic thing you can do, which makes a person feel more compelled do to more favors. Behavior should be controlled or else the whole world would be fighting. It would be rude to bump into a person without saying "sorry" or "excuse me." People might think it was done on purposely. If not for manners anger would be released more furiously. Manners are the most important thing. Manners in work, in the kitchen, outside, with people, it all matters. It defines your entire being. People will describe you as polite and well mannered, thus having a positive attitude towards you. If it's the opposite, they will be hostile, defending themselves from the things you might pull. They will distrust you. This is in my experience- ill mannered people are frowned upon
