Step-by-step explanation:

Actual Cost price = 500+50+26=₹576

and if 1 dozen = 12 pencils.

16 dozen = X

X= 16×12 = 192

so , now let's assume the selling price of 1 pencil be X

so selling price of 192 pencils is 192 X

and the lost is also 8x

C.P. = S.p. + loss

C.p. = 192x + 8x

C.p. = ₹200x

loss = loss×100. = 8 × 100 = 4 percent

upon C.p. 200

= 576 ÷ 192 = ₹3

so now let's assume the C.p. be 100. = 3

and. S.p. be 96 (100-4) =. X

96×3 ÷ 100. = 2.88

therefor the loss is 4 percent and the s.p. of one pencil is ₹2.88
