The word Monsoon is derived from an Arabic word which means season. Monsoons are systems of seasonal wind which blow with consistency and regularity from oceans to continents in summer and in the reverse direction in winter. These wind changes are caused due to differential annual heating and cooling of continents and adjoining oceans. These winds are largely confined to tropical belt.
