Manu is 5 years smaller than Kanu i.e.

Manu's age = x - 5

And,

Addition of their age = 33

=> x + (x - 5) = 33

=> 2x - 5 = 33

=> 2x = 33 + 5

=> 2x = 38

=> x = 38/2

=> x = 19..

so,

Manu's age = x - 5

=> 19 - 5

=> 14 years...

Kanu's age = x = 19 years...
