status of the dalits in the village was so bad and poor.. Mostly SC's(dalits) comprises 1/3 Rd of the population and they live in the corner of the village and live in the small houses which is made up of straw and mud... They were small labours or landless labour and work for daily wages which is insufficient for them and themselves

It is a sad fact that people belonging to the Dalit (SC) community in India are grossly discriminated in villages.

In many villages, they are not allowed to fetch water from the same well that people of forward-castes use. They are also not allowed to enter the temples that people visit in villages.

In some cases, it is even considered inauspicious if their shadow falls on a people of forward-caste. All these discriminatory practices must be done away with so that they also can live a dignified life and compete with others.
