Explanation:

People knew that every drop of water was precious so, lakes and johads were made by one and all to collect water

The reasons that many villages in Rajasthan do not face water shortages are the following.

  • Rajasthan is the largest state in India in terms of geographical area. But, most of that land is covered by the Thar Desert.
  • This makes Rajasthan a dry state with very little rainfall.
  • The reason for the scarce rainfall is the Aravalli Hills, they form a natural barrier prohibiting the rain-carrying winds to reach the western state.
  • This natural condition made the people of Rajasthan adapt and make the most of the circumstances given to them by mother nature.
  • Many lakes and johads were constructed by the people in the region to collect and store water.
  • The people there know the importance of water and engage in many other water conservation activities.
  • The construction of water reservoirs and water conservation practices are the primary reason for the lack of water shortages in the villages of Rajasthan
