Sir ,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I wish to draw the attention of people towards the problem of accommodation faced by students in Delhi. Everyone is aware of the fact that Delhi has many good educational institution. There is a rat race to join these institutions. Many students came to Delhi from different parts of the country to study. The main problem faced by them is to find an affordable accommodation. Since the hostel facilities provided by the educational institutions are not up to the mark and inadequate to meet the demand, students generally prefer to rent room. But their problem increases when the landlords charge exorbitant rents. Sometimes they are refused to take a room on rent because of their different food habits and culture. Moreover, the accommodation, provided is substandard and the landlords don’t follow the set guidelines of renting accommodation. All this is cutting a hole in the pocket of the parents as well. I request you to publish this letter so that the concerned authorities wake up from their slumber and put a rein on the mushrooming of rented accommodations. The educational institutions should also make it a point that they have sufficient accommodation for the enrolled candidates in their institutions. Thanking you in anticipation.
