Subject :- Appeal for making yoga and meditation a part of school curriculum.

Respected sir/ma'am,

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities and the people through the esteemed column of your newspaper regarding making yoga and meditation a part of school curriculum.

A two day yoga and meditation camp was conducted by our school on the occasion of Yoga Day. The best part of the camp was that the students volunteered themselves to conduct this camp. The students contributed at their best by making posters explaining the importance of different asana's.

  • Some students took part in rally, where they addressed the local people about the importance of yoga in daily life.
  • A proper yoga area was also prepared for yoga and meditation activities where different asana's were practiced.
  • Creative writing contests including poetry and essays were also conducted.
  • Students performed a drama also, where they portrayed a story, beautifully passing the message of importance of yoga.
  • A game was also conducted where the teachers prepared some flashcards with the names of different asana's written on them. Students picked a card randomly and they were to show that posture to other students.

The students actively participated in all the activities and through this medium they not only enjoyed but also understood importance of yoga and meditation in daily life.

Yoga improves one's immunity. It fights against diseases to keep one fit. It also improves your concentration level and make one a disciplined person. As we know, a healthy mind stays in a healthy body, so making yoga and meditation a part of school curriculum is really beneficial for both physical and mental health. If practiced regularly, then it will become a part of student's routine which will result in a healthy mind residing in a healthy and strong body.

It is a request to kindly consider it making a part of school curriculum. It will be really beneficial for students.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Diksha Verma
