Many women and children who are not working are not called unemployed?why?

Because their work is often not valued.

  Employed means one who is having a job especially one that PAYS WAGES or a SALARY.......since many women and children are not falling in this category , though they do many works for their homes & their family but not getting any salary/wages therefore are called Unemployed.
