Marasmus and Kwashiorkar are both protein deficiency defects. Marasmus differs from
Kwashiorkar in enlarged belly and swelling in the face. Are these symptoms for the above

In kwashiorkor the skin becomes dark and scaly but in marasmus no darkening of the skin takes place .

Marasmus & Kwashiorkor are the two diseases which are caused by the lack of proper nutrition.
Under-nutrition is caused due to a variety of reasons such as unavailability of food, over consumption of alcohol, and difficulty in eating.
Marasmus is a common condition in the small kids which leads to weight loss & dehydration.
While Kwashiorkor occurs among the individuals who have a protein deficiency.
The symptoms of Marasmus include dehydration, weight loss, and diarrhea whereas the symptoms of Kwashiorkor constitute bulging stomach, Edema, and inability in weight gain.
