π = 3.14

To Find :  what area of floor space will the rug cover

A) 28.26  ft²

B) 58.54  ft²

C) 63.59  ft²

D) 254.34  ft²

Solution:

Area of circle =  π R²

where R is radius

Radius = Diameter/2 = 9/2  feet

=> Area of  floor space rug will cover =  3.14 (9/2)²

= 3.14 x 81 / 4

= 0.785 x 81

= 63.585

= 63.59  ft²

area of floor space the rug will cover :

we know that,

  • Radius = Diameter / 2 .
  • Area of circle = π * (radius)²

so,

→ Radius of rug = (9/2) ft .

then,

→ Area of rug = π(r)²

→ Area of rug = 3.14 * (9/2)²

→ Area of rug = 3.14 * (81/4)

→ Area of rug = (3.14 * 81)/4

→ Area of rug = 254.34/4

→ Area of rug = 63.585 ≈ 63.59 ft². (C) (Ans.)

Therefore, the rug covers 63.59 ft² area of floor space.
