Marco and Jaden are investigating diffusion. They have 12 petri dishes filled with jelly that has been made up with slightly acidic water and universal indicator solution. The jelly is red. Marco and Jaden have cut circles from the center of the jelly using a cork borer. They have been given four bottles of sodium Hydroxide of different concentrations. The bottles are labelled A, B, C and D. The student place a measured volume of the sodium Hydroxide from bottle A into the well in the jelly. After 10 minutes they mark and measure how far the Sodium Hydroxide has diffused into the jelly. They repeat the test twice more. They do this for the Sodium Hydroxide from bottle B, C and D. Here are their results. a. What safety precautions should Marco Jaden take?
