Margaret is three years younger than Stanley, whom she got married to forty years before now.
At the time of the marriage, doubling the age of Stanley and then subtracting it from thrice
Margaret’s age gave 16. How old would Stanley be when he celebrates his diamond wedding
anniversary with Margaret (sixty years of successful marriage)?
A) 62 years
B) 70 years
C) 82 years
D) 85 years

You can solve it from the options as that would be faster:

Let's take option D i.e is 85 years.

85-60= 25 years so that means Stanley got married at the age of 25.

Margaret is 3 years younger i.e 22 years old.

Thrice of 22= 66 and double of 25 is 50.

66-50= 16 which is the remainder as per the condition of the question.

You can check this with other options too. It is way much faster.
